Tour of the flooding

Last week we took a walk around McMinnville at the height of the flooding to see what we could see.  We were very impressed! The pictures really don't do it justice at all. What you have to do is look at what the camera captured, imagine the water twice as imposing and the land half as visible and you will get an idea what it *really* looked like.

This picture was actually taken at the end of our excursion. Our timing was perfect, here comes the next wave of storm clouds rolling in as we drive back home. 

We went to check out a local park we heard was under water. The kids loved this one.....a path leading straight in to the water!

Again, you can see just how much the water receded in one day. There were debris lines everywhere.

This one has nothing to do with water. I just thought the tree was cool.   :)

It's a bit hard to see here, but that's a walking bridge leading in from the left....and disappearing completely.

Usually just fields, here the river spill has made a new river.....straight past the llama property and on to the Anderson's land. This is well down the road from them, heading in their direction.

We were amazed at how quickly the water started receding. It had been all the way over the grassy area just the day before!

The last few are pictures from the car as we drove the loop. I was a bit frustrated though, the pictures are misleading. It shows MUCH more grass and FAR less water than we were actually seeing!
