Let's make this apartment a home!

Yesterday we went to Lowe's to choose paint colors for the bed frames the kids got for Christmas. I was only planning on choosing the colors....but of course the kids had different ideas!

She was looking for the paint lady to help us out.

This is right after I said, "Yes, if you pick the colors we will buy the paint today."

Checking paint samples.  He must have gone through at least 15. At one point he had them all laid out on the floor and was shuffling them like playing cards.

We found the paint lady! Here we are chasing her around the corner.

What do you mean I have to give you my color?

It was VERY hard to hand the specially chosen color sample over!

Watching them mix the paint.

Caiden went with the green in the middle, Rebecca with the pink on top.  I was very impressed with how well they matched each other!

Of course once we got home they just HAD to paint right away!

STRAIGHT into the tub afterward! The bottom of the tub is still covered with a beautiful potpourri of green & pink flakes.

Look at what incentive a new bed frame can be! We spend an hour in their room tidying up.....and it was Caiden's idea! He really didn't want to put his brand new awesome looking bed into a mess because he was worried that we wouldn't be able to see the green. :D

Ready to build!

Doesn't she look SO tiny in there?

Night night! By this point it was after 8 and he was ready to fall asleep on the floor.   :)

It was a wonderful project and they did 90% of the work on their own. Today they are over the moon to have "real beds with legs" and keep running in to their room to admire their own handiwork. Hooray!
